This school is widely seen by current and former staff as heading toward serious trouble, if not closure.Student numbers have been dropping steadily, and the school appears to have lost both direction and credibility. What’s left feels like mostly image management and internal propaganda rather than real stability or academic progress.The biggest issue is leadership under Executive Principal Adrian Macaulay. Decisions feel more political than educational, and there’s little real effort to fix the root problems causing ma.ssive staff turnover and collapsing morale.Turnover has been extreme — roughly 70–80% of staff have left or been replaced in just the past two years, including multiple principals and senior leaders.The atmosphere is tense, mistrustful, and unsupportive. Promotions seem to reward loyalty over competence, and capable teachers often feel pushed out.With new strong international schools opening across Beijing, competition is only getting fiercer.Bottom line: If you’re considering a job here, do your research carefully and ask hard questions.
